Precautions
Sarc-gel should NOT be applied to malignant sarcoids, fibroblastic
sarcoids or melanomas.

Sarc-gel should NOT be applied near to eyes or mucous membranes.
Do not use on horses with liver disorders or photosensitivity as the
essential oils contained in Sarc-gel are photo-reactive.

How to use...
Apply morning and evening, ensuring some exposure to sunlight -
even if this is only possible during exercise.

First offer to your horse to smell and look for signs of interest, such
as sniffing the gel. If your horses disappears to the back of the stable
please contact me before application.

Then put on the biodegradable nitrile gloves supplied to avoid any
potential skin staining to your hands. Apply a small amount of Sarc-gel
to your gloved fingertips or onto the wooden spatula provided and
place onto the surface of sarcoid (or the skin covering it in the case of
nodular types).

As the gel is light activated it's important that it has some exposure to sunlight, though still put on a fly rug when needed on turnout.

What you may see...

You may notice some darkening of the area where the gel was applied
which is normal. A few horses may a small amount of swelling around
the area.

Discontinue use if you notice bleeding (though this is unlikely to
happen with the types recommended).

You may not notice any visible reduction in size for the first 4-6 weeks

of application but then changes can appear to be quite rapid. The
length of time application is required is variable but may be 8 weeks
or more.
